I don’t watch Modern Family; it looks funny, I just have more shows than I can watch already taping on my DVR. Despite the fact that I don’t watch the show, my curiosity was peaked when I heard that Nicole by O.P.I was releasing a Modern Family line of polishes. I decided to investigate - most of the polishes were nice, but didn’t exactly call “take me home!” to me. One did though, and came home with me it did – Am I Making Myself Claire?
Am I Making Myself Claire?’s OPI tagline is “Make no mistake…I’m liking this lilac.” This isn’t like any ol’ lilac to me though. I’d describe it more as a dusty, gray-ish lilac. That doesn’t sound pretty but it is, I pinky promise!
Like with most OPI/Nicole by OPI polishes I own, Am I Making Myself Claire? was easy in terms of application. I used two coats with base and top coats. The first coat was a little patchy, but everything evened out with a second coat. Dry and wear time were good. Click to enlarge (although, fair warning – you’ll also get a close up of my dry skin if you do that, so you may not want to):
I’m happy I got this polish! It’s delicate and feminine, a perfect shade for spring. It’s like a soft, dusty pastel that I think I’m more likely to reach for than a bright pastel. The formula isn’t stellar, but it was definitely good. I probably could have used a third coat just to be on the safe side but for some reason opted against it. I can see myself using Claire? a lot as a layering polish (you’ve actually already seen it in that capacity, beneath Lac Attack’s Kiss Me)!
You can purchase Am I Making Myself Claire (as well as the rest of the Modern Family collection) for $7.99 on the Nicole by OPI site, mass beauty retailers like Walmart, or at beauty retailers like Ulta.
